On the 10thJune 2019 MIEMA, in collaboration with the Gozo Business Chamber (GBC) organised a training seminar in the framework of the STEPPING project, on the topic of energy retrofitting tenders (EPC) for public buildings and green skills competences in the construction sector.
The seminar was well attended. Michael Galea (Vice President of the Gozo Business Chamber) opened the seminar. Presentations on the subject were delivered by Mariangela Luceri (Project manager MIEMA), Dr Ing. Stephen Abela (University of Malta), Perit Erika Massa, Vicky Xuereb (Director Eco Gozo Regional Development), Perit Julian Borg (MCAST) and Charles Dingli (Jobsplus). Daniel Borg (CEO Gozo Business Chamber) chaired the seminar.
In particular Erika Massa from MIEMA, project manager of STEPPING project delivered the training on the EPC contracts and presented the results of the pilot study for the energy renovation of three schools in Malta, that was done in collaboration of MEDE and FTS.
In addition the GBC presented the “BuS trainers” project which is co-funded by the Erasmus+Programme of the European Union on the importance of VET (Vocational education and training) trainers in the building sector.
